Construction Manager

Objectives:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Create and review construction schedule. Incorporate information from system design and engineering, external contractors, supply chain and project management; critical path management

Contracts Administrator

PV Project Engineer

Objectives: To understand the client’s requirement, no matter if our client is our internal project development group or an external company sourcing for an engineering, procurement and construction work. We, as the engineering team provide reliable solutions for DC side within stipulated timeline including duties like project design through PV syst, selecting PV modules, evaluating solar power systems and recommending changes that should be made, providing technical support during installation, monitoring activities and creating design plans. Procurement & Logistics Manager, Australia

Objectives: 

  • Identify cost-quality optimized suppliers for wind and solar projects for mechanical, electrical and civil works and be key relationship manager for such
  • Drive operational excellence along the supply chain for internal and external procurement related matters

Primary responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Head of Sales and Procurement APAC
  • Implement and manage procurement, supply chain and logistics strategy and process for quotations and ordering process
  • Support the sales team by getting mechanical, electrical and civil supplier/ subcontractors’/ consultants’ quotes for wind and solar project in time and quality required
  • Ensure cost-quality optimized equipment and services are procured for projects, on suitable delivery terms and to meet project timescales
  • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and pricing with both internal (sales / operations) and external contacts, and prepare purchase orders, agreements and contracts related agreements; expediting; monitoring compliance and performance
  • Ensure EPCM contract risk is transferred through back to back conditions

About the role

The Construction Manager will be responsible for on-site management and construction of commercial & industrial (C&I) scale solar PV EPC projects in Italy and the EMEA Region, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance; cost, quality, schedule, integration, stakeholders, logistics and security. Focus on quality management and control is paramount. This position is regarded as a hands-on, site based, skilled construction management role.
 

Primary responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful on-site execution of C&I solar PV EPC projects from construction planning and establishment through commissioning, energisation and handover.
  • Formal construction management in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practise; including technical, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder aspects.
  • The Construction Manager will report to the Technical Director of juwi Italy and the Head of Construction EMEA 
  • Responsible for management and reporting on construction and commissioning progress (schedule, costs, risk, quality, SHE, compliance etc.).
  • Adopt, implement and improve where necessary the juwi construction management standards/ processes to minimize project risk and maximize performance.

  • Engineering or master degree or High school diploma (civil, mechanical,), Electrical qualification would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years construction management experience in Electrical infrastructure projects with overall responsibility, 2 years of which gained managing large scale solar PV plants including grid connection (MV).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally (suppliers and customers).
  • A proven track record in successfully delivering projects on time, on budget, safely and compliant with technical & quality requirements and standards.
  • Experience of working autonomously, as the position requires leadership, decision making and problem solving.

About the role
As a Site Administrator you will be responsible for providing overall administrative support to solar EPC projects, managing day-to-day responsibilities, on site.

Primary responsibilities

  • Gather, process and distribute all documents associated i) with the construction, the project management and the delivery of components (e.g, invoices, delivery notes)  along ii) with juwi’s and subcontractors’ personnel matters (e.g expense reports, Labour Inspection,  certificates). 
  • Compile data and secure document control, maintaining detailed, easy access and up-to-date files, in hard and soft data storage. Locate and provide the needed documents upon request.
  • Manage and control the petty cash of the project, providing the respective reports to Accounting & Controlling
  • Scanning, photocopying and distributing documents as needed. Prepare courier packages.

  • Act as an information point for visitors, knowing at all times the whereabouts of the Project Managers and of the Construction Managers, across construction sites. Coordinate site visits when needed.

Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator will be manning the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Control Room, which is currently under development. He/she will be responsible for continuously monitoring and analysing the operation and performance of the PV plants under O&M by juwi within EMEA and alerting the local teams in case of incidents

Primary responsibilities

  • Utilize the remote monitoring system installed in the PV plants, to continuously check the smooth running of all equipment (inverters, strings, sensors, etc).
  • Analyze the daily performance of the PV plants, based on pre-specified procedures.Identify, investigate (at first level), record, communicate and follow up on any incident of technical failure or underperformance of the equipment, on a clearly structured way.
  • Exploit all potentials of the existing remote monitoring systems and contribute in the further development of monitoring tools, processes and procedures.
  • Closely cooperate with local EMEA O&M teams, as well as juwi´s HQ in Worrstadt-Germany.
  • Work in shifts, covering all sunshine hours for EMEA region, for 365 days per year.
  • Situated in Athens´s juwi office.   

Candidate requirements

  • Degree (TEI or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience, of at least 2 years, in the monitoring of PV plants or other power generating plants
  • Experience in the Operation and Maintenance of PV plants

About the role

As a Project Cost Controller, you will be mainly responsible for preparing, tracking and maintaining project cost and liquidity budgets

Primary responsibilities

  • Project Cost Controlling
    • Responsible for cost controlling on PV construction projects in Greece or EMEA
    • Review and analysis of actuals vs budgeted costs
    • Liaise with Project Manager(s) to forecast expected future costs to completion
    • Liaise with project teams (e.g: Accounting, Purchasing, Construction) to validate project economics and data quality
    • Prepare weekly project cash flow and liquidity forecast
  • Reporting
    • Line reporting to Head of Finance and Functional reporting to the Project Manager
    • Ensure timely project reporting in terms of all Group reporting requirements
    • Liaise with Managing Director and Head of Finance to prepare the company’s cash flow forecast, as well as the Business Planning and Forecasting
    • Liaise with the Accounting Department to prepare and upload timely the IFRS and other reports
  • Process Evaluation
    • As a Project Cost Controller, you will be part of a team which continuously evaluates and improves internal cost control processes
