Head of Development On-Grid

Objectives: 

  • Manage all aspects of Project Development from site selection, land lease options, grid connection, PPAs, contract negotiation etc through to financial close.
  • Successfully lead and manage the Development team.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Originating and managing the entire project development from site selection to financial close of the renewable energy project.
  • Creating, closing and managing relevant contractual agreements for project development either directly or with external service providers: Land lease, land lease option or land purchase agreements, special purpose vehicle incorporation, shareholder contracts and structure definition, grid connection contracts, PPA’s, etc. 
  • Managing external service providers for legal, tax, electrical grid, environmental impact assessments, land agents and other third-party consultants or advisors needed for project development. 
  • Responsible for Project Development strategy to secure sites, PPA, permits, licenses and project rights. 
  • Work with local authorities to obtain planning permits, licenses and clearances as well as other necessary documentations. 
  • Creation and editing of project exposé’s, investment memo’s or investment proposals or decision templates for the management. 
  • Project Development Budget management and controlling on a quarterly basis. 
  • Recruiting and managing a regionally dispersed Project Development team. 
  • Develop and maintain necessary personal networks to stakeholders at different levels that effect the successful development of projects such as public authorities on local, regional and national level as well as environmental groups, industry associations, grid operators or service providers.

Construction Manager

Objectives:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Create and review construction schedule. Incorporate information from system design and engineering, external contractors, supply chain and project management; critical path management

PV Project Engineer

Objectives: To understand the client’s requirement, no matter if our client is our internal project development group or an external company sourcing for an engineering, procurement and construction work. We, as the engineering team provide reliable solutions for DC side within stipulated timeline including duties like project design through PV syst, selecting PV modules, evaluating solar power systems and recommending changes that should be made, providing technical support during installation, monitoring activities and creating design plans. About the role

The Construction Manager will be responsible for on-site management and construction of commercial & industrial (C&I) scale solar PV EPC projects in Italy and the EMEA Region, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance; cost, quality, schedule, integration, stakeholders, logistics and security. Focus on quality management and control is paramount. This position is regarded as a hands-on, site based, skilled construction management role.
 

Primary responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful on-site execution of C&I solar PV EPC projects from construction planning and establishment through commissioning, energisation and handover.
  • Formal construction management in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practise; including technical, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder aspects.
  • The Construction Manager will report to the Technical Director of juwi Italy and the Head of Construction EMEA 
  • Responsible for management and reporting on construction and commissioning progress (schedule, costs, risk, quality, SHE, compliance etc.).

  • Minimum of 3 years construction management experience in Electrical infrastructure projects with overall responsibility, 2 years of which gained managing large scale solar PV plants including grid connection (MV).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally (suppliers and customers).
  • A proven track record in successfully delivering projects on time, on budget, safely and compliant with technical & quality requirements and standards.
  • Experience of working autonomously, as the position requires leadership, decision making and problem solving.

About the role

  • Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements and advise the Construction Manager.

About the role

As a hands-on Civil Construction Manager, you will be responsible for on-site management and construction of solar EPC projects in Greece & EMEA region from construction planning to commercial operation and handover, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance.

On-site Logistics Coordinator

Title of position: On-site Logistics Coordinator

About the role
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for on-site logistics planning and coordination on solar PV EPC projects in Greece including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance, quality, schedule and integration control.

Primary responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Construction Manager, the on-site Logistics Coordinator will work with Project Purchasing, off-site Logistics, Consultants, Suppliers and Subcontractors to ensure compliant project execution. 
  • Managing and planning of on-site logistics, supported by the Supply Chain Manager/ off-site Logistics Coordinator.
  • Responsible for laydown & staging area, incoming & outgoing transport flow and on-site route planning in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Monitor traffic management, coordination with neighbouring projects including provincial & access road condition inspections prior to sensitive equipment deliveries. Responsible for observing maximum transportation loads and vehicle lengths.
  • Responsible for incoming goods receipt, quality inspections, offloading & placement and associated supporting documentation as required in order to achieve contractual obligations and payment milestones. Close collaboration with Accounting department.
  • Monitor on site material stock levels in accordance with the project schedule and provide early warning for potential construction risks/ delays.
  • Implement the required systems, processes, documents, templates, etc. required for:
    • Supplier/ subcontractor warehousing and delivery tracking
    • Incoming inspections and goods receipt
    • Claims management
    • On site storage and stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with the project Health and Safety regulations, legislation, standards, codes and requirements in Greece.
  • Determine logistics and offloading resource (persons and equipment) levels to attain schedule milestones and ensure conformance with the construction plan.
  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports & records.
  • Ensure risk assessments, method statements and rigging studies are submitted and approved prior to on site delivery, offloading and placement.
  • Liaising with suppliers and forwarding companies, resolving issues.
  • Training of unskilled resources to perform incoming inspections and goods receipt.

Candidate requirements

  • Supply chain, logistics, procurement, business management and/or engineering background
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role at comparable level
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate at all levels and resolve labour conflict
  • A proven track record in successfully implementing construction logistics for projects
  • Demonstrable experience of managing Subcontractors to stringent time and quality metrics
  • Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite, including MS Project

Desirable attributes

  • Experience in working within the Renewable Energy Sector, preferably photovoltaics.

Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator will be manning the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Control Room, which is currently under development. He/she will be responsible for continuously monitoring and analysing the operation and performance of the PV plants under O&M by juwi within EMEA and alerting the local teams in case of incidents

Primary responsibilities

  • Utilize the remote monitoring system installed in the PV plants, to continuously check the smooth running of all equipment (inverters, strings, sensors, etc).
  • Analyze the daily performance of the PV plants, based on pre-specified procedures.Identify, investigate (at first level), record, communicate and follow up on any incident of technical failure or underperformance of the equipment, on a clearly structured way.
  • Exploit all potentials of the existing remote monitoring systems and contribute in the further development of monitoring tools, processes and procedures.
  • Closely cooperate with local EMEA O&M teams, as well as juwi´s HQ in Worrstadt-Germany.
  • Work in shifts, covering all sunshine hours for EMEA region, for 365 days per year.
  • Situated in Athens´s juwi office.   

Candidate requirements

  • Degree (TEI or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience, of at least 2 years, in the monitoring of PV plants or other power generating plants
  • Experience in the Operation and Maintenance of PV plants
  • Experience in the operation of MV substations would be beneficial
  • Good communicator on an international level
