The tallest wind turbine in Rhineland-Palatinate

Record-holder
Since 2020, two V150 wind turbines have been operating near the Rhineland-Palatinate municipality of Kröppen near Pirmasens – including what was then the tallest wind turbine in Rhineland-Palatinate at 241 meters in total height. Since it went into operation, the wind farm in the southernmost corner of the state, not far from the French border, has been contributing to the region's climate-friendly energy supply with an annual electricity production of 23.5 million kilowatt hours, providing around 7,800 households with clean electricity. The two wind turbines together have a combined output of 8.4 megawatts.

Renewable energies strengthen municipal infrastructure
Steffen Schwarz, mayor of Kröppen, recognizes the opportunities that renewable energies offer his community: in addition to clean energy, renewable energies bring tangible value to the community coffers through leases, trade tax, and municipal tax.
