Wind in Rheinhessen
The project
JUWI constructs the Schornsheim wind farm near its company headquarters in Wörrstadt in 2011, comprising five state-of-the-art wind turbines. The project features powerful multi-megawatt turbines of the Kenersys K100 type, equipped with the innovative ATS hybrid tower. This patented tower solution combines standardized concrete segments with a conventional steel tube tower, enabling particularly efficient operation at typical inland locations.
Generator replacement
In 2023, a spectacular replacement of a defective generator took place at the Schornsheim wind turbine at a height of 150 meters. Using a large crane provided by the company Riga, the roof of the nacelle was first dismantled before the approximately eight-ton core component of the turbine could be exchanged. The generator was installed within just a few hours, and the turbine was back in operation the very next day.
