Sustainable energy through reliable cooperation

WISAG invests in wind power
WISAG, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main in Germany, is an owner-managed multi-service company with around 50,000 employees at over 250 locations. As part of its commitment to sustainability, WISAG has teamed up with JUWI to build two modern wind turbines in Wiebelsheim, which have been supplying green electricity since November 2023. In addition, another wind turbine was acquired in September 2023 from a repowering project in Wörrstadt. With a total output of 12.2 MW, the three turbines in Rhineland-Palatinate generate around 34.000.000 kWh of electricity per year. This amount of electricity exceeds WISAG's total consumption in Germany multiple times.

Forest location in Wiebelsheim
The two Vestas V126 wind turbines are located in a forested area in Wiebelsheim (Rhineland-Palatinate). Each turbine has a capacity of 3.3 MW. Since commissioning in late autumn 2023, they have been generating approximately 17.000.000 kWh of environmentally friendly electricity annually. JUWI is responsible for the technical and commercial operations management of the project. The forest areas affected by the construction have been compensated through extensive offset measures. These include protective actions for red kites, black storks, wildcats, and various bat species.

Repowering in Wörrstadt
In 2022, JUWI installed a modern Vestas V150 wind turbine with a capacity of 5.6 MW and a hub height of 166 meters near its company headquarters in Wörrstadt. The new turbine replaces five older Enercon E40 units, each with a capacity of 500 kilowatts, which had been operating in the neighboring area of Spiesheim since the mid-1990s. At the end of 2021, the five old turbines were fully dismantled, including the complete removal of their foundations. As a result of the replacement, the installed capacity more than doubled, and the annual electricity yield nearly quadrupled—despite the reduction to a single turbine. In 2023, the WISAG Group purchased the project.
