Changes in the JUWI Management Team
JUWI is adjusting its strategic direction and organizational structure. As part of this process, there will also be changes to the executive management team. Starting in October 2026, the executive management team will consist of only two members: the current CEO, Jost Backhaus, and a new CFO, Thomas Hüsgen.
Christian Arnold, Managing Director, who has been with the company since September 2017 and has been responsible for JUWI’s operations in Germany since November 2021, will leave the company on September 30, 2026.
Managing Director Stephan Hansen, who has been with the company since January 2014 and is responsible for JUWI International as well as the central functions of purchasing, IT, quality management, and occupational safety, will step down from his role as Managing Director on September 30, 2026, and leave the company on June 30, 2027. Until then, he will continue to support JUWI as a Senior Advisor in the international project business.
Thomas Hüsgen is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Zelestra Germany and has over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles in the areas of tax, controlling, accounting, finance, and legal affairs at RWE, Innogy, and E.on.
The areas of responsibility previously held by Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen will be restructured and transferred to Jost Backhaus and Thomas Hüsgen. In addition to serving as CEO, Jost Backhaus will be responsible for operations in Germany, Greece, and Italy, as well as for Purchasing and Strategy & Development. Starting in October, Thomas Hüsgen will assume overall responsibility for all commercial matters at JUWI, both domestically and internationally, as well as for Legal and Compliance.
“Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen have shaped JUWI over the past years with their experience and expertise. We would like to thank them sincerely for their tremendous dedication and wish them all the best for the future,” says Dr. Hansjörg Roll, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the JUWI Group and Member of the Executive Board of MVV Energie AG. “At the same time, we are pleased to have recruited Thomas Hüsgen, an internationally experienced finance manager from the renewables sector, to join JUWI. As a shareholder, MVV Energie AG is actively accompanying and supporting JUWI’s realignment. We have every confidence that the future management team will successfully lead JUWI into the future.”
