Utility-scale project will provide clean energy to customers of Colorado Springs Utilities
juwi Inc., the Boulder based US-subsidiary of German renewable energy project developer juwi AG, builds an 82 MWp (AC) solar park in El Paso County, Colorado. The Palmer Solar project contains more than 200,000 solar panels, is being built on land south of Colorado Springs and has recently been acquired by Duke Energy Renewables, a commercial business unit of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK). The plant was developed by juwi and is scheduled to be connected to the grid by the end of this year. juwi will also act as EPC contractor and will provide O&M services after completion. The solar park will generate enough energy to power approximately 19,000 homes per year.
