Objectives
JUWI Australia has the exciting opportunity for a Project/Site Engineer to support bringing large-scale renewable projects into reality. The person in this role will be responsible for interfacing between the design and construction teams, providing technical support to all teams on site from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover. This key project role requires critical thinking, communication skills and a solution-oriented attitude to make more renewable energy happen.
The role is for 24-month engagement with scope to extend and an exciting utility scale PV project for a large mining operation to support. The role put you into the mix of a team of world class professionals providing technical support from around the globe and let you be part of decarbonizing Australia’s resource sector.

The key roles for the PV Engineer will be the design and engineering of Solar PV Systems during Sales and Execution phase, as outlined below:
The role is for 24-month engagement with scope to extend and an exciting utility scale PV project for a large mining operation to support. The role put you into the mix of a team of world class professionals providing technical support from around the globe and let you be part of decarbonizing Australia’s resource sector.
Responsibilities
The key roles for the PV Engineer will be the design and engineering of Solar PV Systems during Sales and Execution phase, as outlined below:
- Application of Engineering knowledge to design Solar PV (~50MWp+).
- Ability to apply Australian and customer specific standards to projects.
- Liaising between the design and construction teams
- Providing technical construction support for all stakeholders
- Support finalizing the design, e.g. involvement in bringing the design to IFC prior to mobilisation
- Reviewing subcontractor documentation / work to ensure adherence to approved designs
- Supporting the project managers, quality, HSE with technical matters on site
- Managing and documenting on site design changes
- On-site technical support through to commissioning and handover
- Interface with internal stakeholders (project managers, project engineers, product engineers, procurement, sales team;) and external stakeholders to ensure consistent communication.
Your Profile
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction as a site engineer
- Previous resources sector experience and/or construction experience
- Ability to work within a local and international design team and with construction teams
- Good written / spoken communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team spirit
- Strong safety and safety in design focus
- Ability to support the finalisation of design and ensure their implementation on site with a 2-week 1-week site roster for the construction phase (Q3 2023 onwards).
- Good understanding of solar (Photovoltaic) power systems
- Open-minded and flexible
- Possess a strong drive and have sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capable of independent decision-making
- Result and detailed-orientated approach
