About the role
The successful candidate will lead a team of Project Managers and support the Hybrid business team from contract development stage until signed EPC contract, where the project will be delegated to a project specific PM. The Senior Project Manager will be abreast of all projects and ensure budget, timelines, cost, quality etc are on schedule and to JUWI’s standards.

As the Senior Project Manager (m/f/d), your responsibilities will include:

Project Management
  • Being accountable for the successful outcome of Solar and Hybrid EPC(M) projects from financial close through commissioning, energisation and handover.
  • Formal project management of EPC(M), Supplier and Sub-Contracts including engineering, commercial and stakeholders’ aspects
  • Manage a project team (matrix structure) and work with Business Development, Procurement, Construction Management, Engineering, Consultants, Customers and local authorities to ensure financial close and compliant project execution
  • Manage and report on progress – scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, HSE, contracts etc.
  • Implement, improve and maintain project management guidelines, processes, tools and procedures to ensure a structured project execution approach so to minimize project risk and maximise performance
  • Achieving contractual milestones and management of liquidity, schedule, costs as per EPC(M) contracts and project baselines
  • Ensure full compliance with QHSE regulations, standards, codes and requirements in Australia
  • Support Business Development team with preparation and evaluation of offers and bids
  • Securing of environmental, grid connection and construction permits
  • Supporting the EPC(M) contract negotiation
  • Lead supply/sub-contract negotiation, contract preparation, execution and management
  • Being the primary interface to investors and customers following EPC(M) contract closure
  • Responsible for Handover to the Customer and Operations & Maintenance team
 Team Leadership
  • Lead the EPC Project Management team in Australia, including team morale and development, overall projects forecast, project budgets, risk and resources
  • Personnel Development of subordinate teams including expertise and skills training
  • Provide direction and be a “sounding board” for EPC project managers, particularly with regards to juwi processes & governance, problem solving, risk, interfaces, integration and escalation.
  • Lead project cost calculations with input from Procurement
  • Leading weekly, monthly (if needed daily) project meetings with subordinate project managers, engineers, construction managers and O&M team and interfacing departments such as supply chain and logistics, accounting and controlling
  • Lead and direct Project Managers to ensure fulfilment of contractual obligations including, programme, budget, liquidity, performance, quality and HSE
  • Support Business Development team from an execution perspective and allocate/ plan the required project resources
  • Review all projects going through execution release approval with the responsible Project Manager and Business Development Manager, prior to Gate 4 meetings with approval stakeholders
  • Reporting weekly on project status, timelines and budgets to Managing, Regional Director and Operations Director.
  • Further development of Project Management Standards based on international juwi Standards and APAC requirements.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

  • An engineering, natural science, quantity surveying or environmental planning degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of successful project management track record in the Australian power, energy or construction industry
  • Proven track record of managing complex proprietary or standard form contracts
  • Strong negotiation, excellent communication skills and successful at relationship building across a broad range of levels
  • Proven track record of managing and motivating project teams in a matrix organizational structure
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills, a self-starter with  strong  problem solving and creativity aspects and a passion for renewable energies
  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and organize own work load including flexibility in working hours as projects may require
  • Renewable energy experience, in particular solar PV
