Legal Counsel

Start ASAP | Full-time permanent | Based in Perth or Brisbane, Australia

With an annual turnover of over 1 billion AUD and installed capacity in excess of 5 GW across 25 countries, JUWI is one of the world's leading companies in the renewable energy sector. Since 1996, JUWI has developed, planned, financed, built and operated power plants and systems that use renewable energies – wind and solar.

The Australian subsidiary has been operating since 2015 is currently delivering multiple utility scale and hybrid renewable projects located both on-grid and off-grid. Driven by the increasing demand for utility scale solar and wind systems, JUWI is expanding its delivery capability in Australia. JUWI has offices in Perth and Brisbane.


  • Provide day-to-day legal support and advice to internal stakeholders such as Project Delivery, Procurement, Finance, HR and others.
  • Review, draft and negotiate various contracts related to the company’s business, in particular EPC contracts, operations and maintenance agreements, supply agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc.
  • Responsible for corporate and statutory governance of the organisation, including compliance with internal guidelines, data protection, etc
  • Support other JUWI companies within the Asia-Pacific region on an ad-hoc basis
  • Company Secretary: Ensure company returns and registers required under legislation are completed by the due dates and maintained according to best practice
  • Act as the compliance/data protection representative for APAC

Your Profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law
  • At least 5 years of post-admission experience within a large commercial environment or law firm in similar capacity as Legal Counsel or higher
  • Demonstrated commercial experience with a project or contracts-based environment or in the renewable industry is highly preferred.
  • High level of communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to wok independently, multi-task and prioritise and organise work in an orderly manner and meeting deadlines.
