Objectives
As the Engineering Manager – Australia, you will be responsible for the leadership, coordination of, and development of JUWI Australia’s growing engineering team. The team is part of a global engineering team responsible for delivering renewable energy projects, with the focus in Australia on PV / BESS projects for the mining industry. The Engineering Manager – Australia shall also be responsible for defining the technical concepts applied in projects, developing internal engineering standards and processes, and ensuring design compliance to client, JUWI, national and international standards and regulations. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for the mentoring and professional development of a diverse, growing engineering team. You are passionate about renewable energy and are driven to energise sustainability.

The Engineering Manager – Australia shall be responsible for:
- The quality of the deliverables of the Engineering Department
- Leading a growing team of diverse engineers, focussed on mining PV / BESS projects
- Management of various technical sub-disciplines such as Electrical, Civil, SCADA
- Leading, motivating and mentoring the local engineering personnel
- Set and follow up departmental budget (budget responsibility)
- Determine and communicate department goals and objectives in line with the Business Plan and JUWI strategy
- Recruitment of required engineering personnel
- Supervision and guidance of new engineering personnel (ensure proper onboarding and mentoring)
- Represent the JUWI values internally and externally
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as consultants or Sub-Contractors
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with internal customers and stakeholders
- Managing and coordinating technical resources and prioritising daily tasks
- Screen and coordinate the presence of quality-relevant processes and guidelines
- Review, optimise and develop engineering processes and guidelines
- Ensure permanent knowledge transfer within the engineering matrix structure
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as professional and industry-specific standards and regulations.
- Working knowledge of local labour laws and, as required same for international projects
- Development of relationship between Engineering and internal stakeholders
- Defining the technical concept for PV / BESS projects
- Ensure seamless technical documentation of renewable energy projects
- Creating a productive and well-equipped environment for the engineering team to enable effective project delivery from concept phase through to commissioning
- Other duties including target setting, performance reviews, leave administration etc.
Your Profile
- Ten years’ experience in an engineering role, preferably with several years leading a team
- Five years’ work experience in renewables industry
- Work experience in Mining industry is beneficial
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience improving engineering processes and standards
- Experience in project resource planning
- Mentoring of early career engineers
- Ability to lead a multi-cultured and multi-disciplinary team
- Expert knowledge in relevant standards
- Excellent communication in English at all levels both internally and externally
