The technical, procurement and construction teams work closely with suppliers to develop and deliver high-quality components.

Your Tasks

Objectives
As the Technical Manager (m/f/d), you will be the proxy of the country’s Managing Director in relation to day-to-day EPC and O&M activities together with other country-specific roles. You will liaise with the local teams of Project Development, Finance & Project Finance, Operations (Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, Project Management, O&M) to accomplish the Country’s business objectives.
 
You will have line reports from the Country Operations Team Leads. You will also have regular collaboration with the Functional Heads of the Operations Departments. You will report directly to the country’s Managing Director.
 
Primary Responsibilities
Operations focus;
  • Support Project Managers and Functional department heads in the daily Operations activities in the Country
  • Closely follow the projects’ budgets and schedules during execution and support the Project Managers to meet the country’s P&L
  • Ensure the Local Operations team is meeting performance expectations.
  • Ensure the proper communication and collaboration between the different Operations Departments in the Country, for the successful implementation of EPC and O&M projects.
  • Works collaboratively with Functional Team Managers to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the Operations in the Country and ensure successful project implementation.
  • Interface with functional and local teams in terms of market particularity, related strategy, and projects execution.
  • Provide local support to functional team managers and team leads in relation to all Operations activities (projects and non-projects related)
  • Liaise with the functional managers to ensure that the resource planning is aligned with Country particularity and complies with country’s P&L.
  • Advise the PM Team Leader regarding Project Budget and/or Schedule as well as Deviations to the project execution team.
  • Represent the MD in the project steering meetings / Reporting to the MD of Project Status.
  • Advise and support the relevant functional manager regarding definition and evaluation of goals & development plans/trainings, and approval of vacations and timesheets of the local Ops team leaders (PM, E, C, O&M, and SCM)
  • Advise the local Team Leader and functional manager of each operational department (PM, E, C, O&M, SCM) regarding hiring decisions.
  • Advise the relevant function manager regarding approval of country non-project specific Operations expenses incl. travel.
  • As Line Manager of local Ops team leaders (PM, E, C, O&M and SCM) be responsible for legal, statutory ESG & HR matters (payroll, social security, health insurance, EHS)
  • As Line manager of local Ops Team Leaders (PM, E, C, O&M and SCM) be responsible for team communication & cultural integration.
  • Proxy and delegate of the MD for all HSE aspects in relation to EPC and O&M activities
 
Country / local focus;
  • Look into methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures at a country level.
  • Provide consultancy to the MD for the defined market (OPS strategy, customer & stakeholder management, EPC and O&M sales activities).
  • Support the MD throughout EPC and O&M Sales activities, coordinating technical support and activities with Team Leaders and Functional Managers.
  • Proxy and delegate of the MD for all HSE aspects in relation to the Italian entity.

Your Profile

Qualifications and Experience
  • University Degree in Engineering. Management studies at a post-graduate level will be considered a plus.
  • Proven working experience in relevant positions in the renewables sector in the specific Country.
  • People management, organizational and leadership skills: Provide advice, set guardrails to ensure movement in the right direction, conflict resolution, help the team make progress toward their career goals and aspirations.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to communicate across levels both internally and externally.
  • Technology Direction/Vision: Have the technical expertise to provide technical direction and vision to help the company achieve its business goals through execution excellence.
  • Strategic planning skills: Identify and anticipate future technology needs, as well as improve efficiencies with current systems. 
  • Demonstrable ability to work in matrix organizations and to operate in a culturally diverse international environment.
