About the role

This role is critical in establishing juwi business activities in Vietnam by providing management and support in the areas of sales, project development, networking and leads generation.

Role description

  •  Development of effective strategies, procedures, templates and contracts to develop PV projects in Vietnam.
  •  Manage the entire project development process from site selection or co-development to completion of development in reaching financial close for Solar Projects. Support projects until commercial operation date.
  • Profitability analysis and project proposal preparation for PV power leads.
  • Management of external parties, eg. national & international parties, so as to drive projects by developing, adopting and implementing strategic alliances and partnerships successfully.
  • Closure of contracts to meet top-line and bottom-line targets for the subsidiary.
  • Create presentations for senior management and executive team deal review committees seeking approval of significant capital investments.
  • Preparation of decision templates for the Management and Board.

Role description

    About the role

    The job holder will implement the juwi Management System based on ISO 9001 in APAC and will document the business processes in close collaboration with process owners.

    Primary Responsibilities of Job Holder

              About the role

              As a Deputy Project Manager you will be responsible for project management activities regarding compliance, budget, cost, quality, schedule, risk, contracts, engineering, integration, stakeholders during the execution of EPC contracts of solar plants.

              Primary responsibilities

              • Direct & manage the successful execution of solar projects from design through commercial operation, respecting deadlines and resources.

              About the role

              Primary responsibilities

              • Seek, identify and engage appropriate suppliers for project-related goods and services. Ensure cost-quality optimized goods and services are purchased for solar projects, on suitable delivery terms and to meet project timescales.
              • Lead the negotiation of contract terms & pricing with internal and external contacts, assisting with preparation of related agreements, monitoring compliance of delivery against contracts, enforcement of claims to suppliers in case of deviations e.g. penalties. Provide relevant support for RFQ preparation and evaluation when requested.
              • Manage enquiries, quotations and ordering process including tracking order fulfillment for each project.
              • Set up and maintain a project cost-reporting system covering all purchased goods and services projects (in conjunction with the Project Managers and Construction team).
              • Monitor market for pricing trends, changes, new entrants etc.  
              • Issue and/or review and monitor all related tax documents (proforma invoices, dispatch notes, invoices etc) for completeness and accuracy. Liaise continuously with the accounting and controlling teams to ensure compliance with company and national regulations and smooth execution of payments.
              • Planning delivery timetables, ensuring that products are on site in timely and cost-effective manner. Handling imports by checking all relevant documents are in order according to local laws and regulations.
              • Continuous communication with Project Managers and Construction Managers providing accurate information on delivery timetable, alternative solutions in case of delays and handling supplier variations, change orders etc.
              • Work in conjunction with the juwi HQ purchasing organization to utilize global supplier frameworks and develop a longer-term procurement & logistics strategy.


              Candidate requirements

              • Degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management or in similar discipline
              • 6 years’ experience in international procurement and logistics management. 
              • Experience of working within the renewable energy industry or in the construction field and of managing purchasing & delivery for multiple projects at the same time, is an asset.

              About the role
              As a Site Administrator you will be responsible for providing overall administrative support to solar EPC projects, managing day-to-day responsibilities, on site.

              Primary responsibilities

              • Gather, process and distribute all documents associated i) with the construction, the project management and the delivery of components (e.g, invoices, delivery notes)  along ii) with juwi’s and subcontractors’ personnel matters (e.g expense reports, Labour Inspection,  certificates). 
              • Compile data and secure document control, maintaining detailed, easy access and up-to-date files, in hard and soft data storage. Locate and provide the needed documents upon request.
              • Manage and control the petty cash of the project, providing the respective reports to Accounting & Controlling
              • Scanning, photocopying and distributing documents as needed. Prepare courier packages.
              • Assist in ordering supplies for the personnel and maintaining inventory on site.
              • Act as an information point for visitors, knowing at all times the whereabouts of the Project Managers and of the Construction Managers, across construction sites. Coordinate site visits when needed.

              About the role

              As a PV System Engineer you will be responsible for complete engineering, design and planning of solar power plants in the EMEA region.

              Primary responsibilities

              • Complete System Design engineering - system specification, design in accordance with electrical, mechanical and civil codes, drafting of technical drawings.
              • Support component evaluation, specification and selection based on cost vs. performance benefit.
              • Technical support for RFQ preparation and evaluation.
              • Implementation of juwi’s system design standards and optimizations.
              • Document control, maintain engineering folder structure and prepare document registers, submission of final engineering package to end customer.
              • Technical advisory and technical support for Project Development, Project Management, Operation & Maintenance, Sales and Project Finance departments.

              Candidate requirements

              • University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have signature right.
              • 5 years’ working experience in PV plant design including medium voltage grid code experience.
              • Civil / mechanical engineering experience is appreciated. 
              • Excellent command of MS Office, AutoCAD, PVSyst.
              • Fluent in Greek and in English (verbal & writing).

              About the role

              As an Office Administrator you will be responsible for the management of office operational activities in a smooth and effective manner.

              Primary responsibilities

              • Handle the telephone center, answering and directing phone calls accordingly; welcome and direct visitors through the premises. Sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare courier packages

              Control Room Operator

              About the role

              The Control Room Operator will be manning the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Control Room, which is currently under development. He/she will be responsible for continuously monitoring and analysing the operation and performance of the PV plants under O&M by juwi within EMEA and alerting the local teams in case of incidents

              Primary responsibilities

              • Utilize the remote monitoring system installed in the PV plants, to continuously check the smooth running of all equipment (inverters, strings, sensors, etc).
              • Analyze the daily performance of the PV plants, based on pre-specified procedures.Identify, investigate (at first level), record, communicate and follow up on any incident of technical failure or underperformance of the equipment, on a clearly structured way.
              • Exploit all potentials of the existing remote monitoring systems and contribute in the further development of monitoring tools, processes and procedures.
              • Closely cooperate with local EMEA O&M teams, as well as juwi´s HQ in Worrstadt-Germany.
              • Work in shifts, covering all sunshine hours for EMEA region, for 365 days per year.
              • Situated in Athens´s juwi office.   

              Candidate requirements

              • Degree (TEI or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
              • Experience, of at least 2 years, in the monitoring of PV plants or other power generating plants
              • Experience in the Operation and Maintenance of PV plants
              • Experience in the operation of MV substations would be beneficial
              • Good communicator on an international level
              • Excellent knowledge of English language (both spoken and written)
              • Reliable and responsible character
              • Good level of IT skills (MS Word, Excel, etc)

              Business Development Manager (hybrid power solutions)

              Objectives:

              We are looking for a Business Development Manager to focus on hybrid power solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
              The role is based around positioning juwi as a leading renewable energy solution provider in focus countries
              within SSA, and developing and closing sales in identified emerging markets. The role is an integral part of
              juwi’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) organisation with the Business Development Manager being the
              key sales representative of juwi in the SSA region.

              Primary Responsibilities:

              Strong Business Development and project pipeline expansion focus:

              • Originate leads for hybrid projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

                • Identify viable customers and project sites or co-development opportunities for hybrid solutions.
                • Develop and manage pipeline of leads for hybrid projects Sub-Saharan Africa.
                • Preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals; responses to EOIs and RFPs; and contractual agreements.

              • Drive leads to the conclusion (negotiation and closure) of Heads of Terms, Power Purchase and/or EPC agreements towards financial close. Support projects and their respective EPC project managers through execution phase until commercial operation date.
              • Remain in charge of project budgets until hand over to EPC project management.
              • Development of effective strategies, procedures, templates and contracts to grow the pipeline of hybrid projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.
              • Management of leads and partnerships in regard to business and project development.
              • Develop and maintain necessary personal networks to stakeholders at different levels that effect the successful development of projects. Key networks include mining industry decision makers, independent power producers, mining and energy consultants, public authorities on local, regional and national level as well as environmental groups, industry associations, grid operators and service providers.
              • Provide leadership by managing project meetings and coordinating internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to deadlines and internal and external requirements.
              • Regular reporting of project development status and project pipelines, budget responsibility on project basis.

              Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:

              • Matric and/or relevant diploma
              • 5 years of work experience in the mining or large remote power supply sector
              • Proven lead origination track record in the mining or large power supply sector
              • Track record in closure of mining or large power supply projects or agreements
              • Strong understanding of the mining industry, its drivers, KPIs and decision processes
              • Strong existing network into the mining industry
              • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in engineering, minerals, metallurgy, finance or legal from an accredited college or university
              • Experience with PPAs and/or EPC contracts
              • Knowledge of finance and business concepts with focus on mining
              • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
              • Strong commercial mindset
              • Basic understanding of the renewable energy business
              • Ability to find commercially viable solutions for complex technical requirements and issues
              • Excellent oral and written communication
              • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing time demands
              • Comfortable with extensive travel in Africa
              • Interest and history to work with remote colleagues in different locations and time zones
              • Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat

              Preferred additional capabilities:

              • Financial modeling experience
              • Solar or wind industry experience
