Project Engineer PV / Hybrid

Objectives: As Project Engineer you will be part of the EMEA engineering team, working with the international colleagues in our subsidiaries. You will be responsible for all technical issues within the different project phases. Among other tasks you will support the local Sales and PD teams in the bid preparation, coordinate the system design packages, support the construction and the commission phase of the PV or Hybrid plants.

Project Manager, Australia

Objectives: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful closure and execution of an EPC(M) contract for a utility solar PV project in Australia. They will be responsible for project management from inception to handover, including full responsibility for budget & timelines, cost, quality, contracts, engineering, integration, HSE, construction, commissioning and stakeholder management.

  • Accountable for the successful outcome of solar PV EPC(M) project from financial close through commissioning, energisation and handover

  • Complete System Design including: system specification, engineering services, system design documentation reviewing and drafting including, but not limited to, PV Layouts and Electrical Diagrams in accordance with electrical, mechanical and civil International and Local standards.

About the role
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for on-site logistics planning and coordination on solar PV EPC projects in Greece including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance, quality, schedule and integration control.

Primary responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Construction Manager, the on-site Logistics Coordinator will work with Project Purchasing, off-site Logistics, Consultants, Suppliers and Subcontractors to ensure compliant project execution. 
  • Managing and planning of on-site logistics, supported by the Supply Chain Manager/ off-site Logistics Coordinator.
  • Responsible for laydown & staging area, incoming & outgoing transport flow and on-site route planning in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Monitor traffic management, coordination with neighbouring projects including provincial & access road condition inspections prior to sensitive equipment deliveries. Responsible for observing maximum transportation loads and vehicle lengths.
  • Responsible for incoming goods receipt, quality inspections, offloading & placement and associated supporting documentation as required in order to achieve contractual obligations and payment milestones. Close collaboration with Accounting department.
  • Monitor on site material stock levels in accordance with the project schedule and provide early warning for potential construction risks/ delays.
  • Implement the required systems, processes, documents, templates, etc. required for:
    • Supplier/ subcontractor warehousing and delivery tracking
    • Incoming inspections and goods receipt
    • Claims management
    • On site storage and stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with the project Health and Safety regulations, legislation, standards, codes and requirements in Greece.
  • Determine logistics and offloading resource (persons and equipment) levels to attain schedule milestones and ensure conformance with the construction plan.
  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports & records.
  • Ensure risk assessments, method statements and rigging studies are submitted and approved prior to on site delivery, offloading and placement.
  • Liaising with suppliers and forwarding companies, resolving issues.
  • Training of unskilled resources to perform incoming inspections and goods receipt.

Candidate requirements

  • Supply chain, logistics, procurement, business management and/or engineering background
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role at comparable level
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate at all levels and resolve labour conflict
  • A proven track record in successfully implementing construction logistics for projects
  • Demonstrable experience of managing Subcontractors to stringent time and quality metrics
  • Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite, including MS Project

Objectives

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for all project related work and corporate housekeeping matters:  

  • Will manage project contracts and ensure a timely response to notifications, variations and project needs
  • In case of claims will prepare answers and proposals to reject or settle such claims
  • Will act as the contact person for the colleagues, ensuring that the contract scope is being delivered and aligns with legal obligations

Primary responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiation of all sorts of agreements, particularly project development agreements, land lease agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, supply agreements, service agreements, financial contracts, consultancy agreements, cooperation and joint venture agreements and all related agreements

juwi Hellas S.A. was founded in 2008 and its business activity is exclusively in the solar sector. It offers a wide range of services, including Development, Planning, Procurement, Construction, Operation & Maintenance of photovoltaic plants (PV). juwi Hellas S.A. has completed more than 60 PV plants with a total capacity of more than 120 MW, while it will implement a 204MW plant which will be the largest in Southeast Europe.


Objectives

As a hands-on Construction Manager you will be responsible for on-site management and construction of solar EPC projects in Greece & EMEA region from construction planning to commercial operation and handover, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance. 

Primary responsibilities

  • Accomplish construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating sub-contractors and staff that reports to him/her; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; evaluating and implementing change orders. 
  • Formal construction management in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practices; including technical, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder aspects.    
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and requirements (technical drawings and calculations, material specs, construction quality, tests, commissioning and handover).
  • Responsible for achieving construction schedule and subcontractor payment milestones, including preparation/ compilation of all supporting documentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with the QHSE regulations, legislation, standards, codes and requirements in the Region.
  • Responsible for handover of the project to Operations & Maintenance team.
  • The Construction Manager will report to the Head of Construction and to the Project Manager. Will work in cross-functional project management teams with Project Management, Acquisition, Project Purchasing, System Design, Specialist Consultants, Clients and the Utility (if applicable) to ensure compliant project execution.

Candidate requirements

  • University Degree in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, respectively. Must have signature right.
  • 7 years’ experience of construction management with proven track record of successfully delivered solar projects is a prerequisite. More specifically, the Electrical Engineer shall have proven experience with the whole chain of electrical works in a PV plant and the Mechanical Engineer shall have proved experience with the installation of mounting rack systems. 
  • Solid understanding of the solar market, electrical grid code and grid connection process, commissioning and energization of substations & solar plants, along with health and safety requirements. Experience in High Voltage will be considered as an asset.
  • Solid understanding of standard contract forms and contract management.
  • Excellent command of MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD etc and best practices.  
  • Fluent in Greek and in English (verbal & writing).
  • Excellent communication skills: able to communicate across levels both internally and externally. 
  • Ability of working autonomously, decision making and problem solving.  
  • Team player with evident leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations, to operate and to navigate in a multinational environment. 
  • Availability to travel frequently within Greece and abroad and stay long periods away. Valid driving license is needed.
