Objectives

We are looking for a strong leader to head our Project Purchasing EMEA department to ensure efficient and successful project purchasing with a team of project purchasers. The HoPSC will be functional and organizational responsible of project buyers in Germany, Greece, Italy and South Africa and have a functional leadership role of the assigned employees of the respective country organizations. As Head of Competence Center PV in the juwi Group, the support of strategic purchasing activities by leading or actively participating in strategic purchasing projects (e.g. framework contract negotiations, contract development, etc.) is one of the main objectives. The position owner will report to the Director Corporate Supply Chain of the juwi group and is part of the global Project Supply Chain Management Team.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • leadership, management, and technical support of the team of project buyers in an international context, 
  • resource planning and prioritization of the tasks of the project buyers, taking into account the individual employee skills, with the aim of improving the success of the projects (time, cost, quality),
  • process responsibility for all departmental processes,
  • management and/or active participation in strategic purchasing projects for the entire juwi Group (including content and conceptual design in close cooperation with the division manager), if necessary involving project buyers and other functions within the entire juwi Group,
  • collaboration in the development and elaboration of global purchasing guidelines and strategies, 
  • development of regional purchasing guidelines and strategies based on the overall guidelines and strategies,
  • collaboration in the review and further development of the juwi project purchasing organization in a global context,
  • further development and qualification of project purchasers taking into account personal and superordinate requirements,
  • work closely with the Head of Project Supply Chain in Germany and APAC and the Director of Corporate Supply Chain on group-wide issues related to the purchasing strategy and if necessary, coordinate between global purchasing roles. 

Responsibilities as Head of Competence Center PV:

  • ensuring international exchange within global juwi organization and consider the needs of the other regions in regards to PV,
  • professional development of the PV experts in coordination with the disciplinary superior in regards of target setting and personal development,
  • work in conjunction with the juwi HQ purchasing organization to utilize global supplier frameworks,
  • lead contract negotiations regarding price and scope with suppliers on a national and international level,
  • identify cost-cutting and standardization opportunities in cooperation with internal interface partners.

Personal requirements

  • Several years’ experience in international procurement and supply chain management.
  • Preferred experience in procurement in the PV industry/ RE industry.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in order to communicate with internal and external personnel.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful closure and execution of the project. They will be responsible for project management from inception to handover, including full responsibility for budget & timelines, cost, quality, contracts, engineering, integration, HSE, construction, commissioning and stakeholder management within a matrix organization part of the Asia Pacific region. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • accountable for the successful outcome of solar PV EPC(M) projects from financial close through commissioning, energisation and handover,

Qualification & Experience

  • Tier 1 Mining experience essential.
  • An engineering, natural science, quantity surveying or environmental planning degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of successful project management track record in the Australian power, energy or construction industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex proprietary or standard form contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, excellent communication skills and successful at relationship building across a broad range of levels.
  • Proven track record of managing and motivating project teams in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills, a self-starter with strong problem solving and creativity aspects and a passion for renewable energies.

About the role

Support the Construction Manager in the completion of the project scope, daily operations, management of subcontractors, schedule, supply chain and project management. Monitor and oversee all civil work on site to ensure contractual obligations are met.

  • identify, source and qualify subcontractors and suppliers for projects,
  • review business plans and procedures periodically providing proposed changes if necessary.

 

Qualification & Experience 

  • Engineering / Civil degree – Engineering Degree not essential. The primary requirements of a civil supervisor is a depth of civil experience, to be able to drive production and coordinate the civil contractor – experience would ideally come from multiple civil roles/industries (civil and concrete).
  • 10 years experience in renewables energy - – 10 years renewables experience not essential. Some renewables experience essential, however the primary requirement is a depth of civil knowledge. Supervision experience of large concrete pour and roadworks would be an ideal candidate.
  • Background in execution of wind turbine foundations – Highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in order to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders within a matrix organization.
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills, a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for renewable energies.

Qualification & Experience

  • Certificate IV - Occupational Health and Safety (Minimum).
  • Experience in a similar role within a construction environment.
  • Trainer and Assessor (TAE40116) desirable.
  • Well-developed knowledge of OH&S legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
  • Ability to work confidently with individuals, teams, and leaders on HSE issues.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written in order to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders within a matrix organization.
  • Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005).

About the role

The juwi Hybrid Engineer will be involved in the development and delivery of renewable projects (solar, wind and BESS) and be responsible for designing and optimising engineering designs and solutions for Hybrid projects. For project delivery, the role will encompass meeting the head contract specification requirements and ensuring all the associated subcontracts support juwi in meeting these same specifications. This role will extend across other projects and project development activities as required both locally and internationally.   • Engineering / Civil degree – Engineering Degree not essential. The primary requirements of a civil supervisor is a depth of civil experience, to be able to drive production and coordinate the civil contractor – experience would ideally come from multiple civil roles/industries (civil and concrete).
  • 10 years experience in renewables energy - – 10 years renewables experience not essential. Some renewables experience essential, however the primary requirement is a depth of civil knowledge. Supervision experience of large concrete pour and roadworks would be an ideal candidate.
  • Background in execution of wind turbine foundations – Highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in order to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders within a matrix organization.

As SCADA Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of the juwi engineering team and responsible for all technical queries related to SCADA system in all phases of the project life cycle. This includes but is not limited to sales support, system design works but also providing support on site during the construction and commissioning phase.

  • Demonstrated expertise with industrial instrumentation, automation, PLC’s, machine control, HMI,Met Station, Cloud camera, micro grid controller and communication protocols like IEC-101, IEC-104, IEC 61850, MODBUS,NTP, DNP and OPC.
  • Demonstrated expertise with distributed network systems, VPN and common network interfaces.
  • Previous experience in commission of SCADA systems for PV / BESS / Wind

About the role

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the execution of projects on time within budget and scope. Project management activities include schedule, budget, scope, quality, risk, contracts, engineering, integration, compliance, stakeholder management throughout the execution of the projects. You will report to the Project Sponsor.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • ensure that project is delivered on-time. Create full-scale project plans & construction schedules. Track project timelines, milestones and deliverables,
  • ensure that project is delivered within budget. Keep overview of budgetary objectives, identify discrepancies and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis,
  • ensure that project is delivered within scope. Monitor compliance with specifications and requirements included in project contracts and other related project documents,
  • manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs. Perform risk management to minimize project risks. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques,
  • create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs,
  • ensure resource availability/allocation and technical feasibility. Coordinate internal and external resources for the flawless execution of the project,
  • liaise with project stakeholders on regular basis. Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to the Project Sponsor and other company executives and to the customer,
  • implement & comply with juwi processes and standards.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree in Engineering. Management studies at a post-graduate level will be considered a plus.
  • Proven working experience in project management, preferably in solar projects. PMI certification will be considered an asset.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Experience of contract management and knowledge of standard contract forms.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project & MS Office.
  • Fluent in Italian and in English (verbal & writing).

About the role

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the procurement/purchasing activities for projects in Italy and other regions.  Responsibilities will lie in both the project and strategic purchasing areas.  Purchasing scope covers all local supply (hardware, services), as well as other supply (in coordination with juwi HQ in Germany). Overall personal responsibility for co-ordination and monitoring of all procurement-related activities (including logistics and post sales related activities) within the project team.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Project purchasing:
    • Ensure cost-quality optimized goods and services are purchased for our projects, on suitable terms for delivery, cost, payments and quality to meet project timescales and milestones
    • Seek, identify and engage appropriate suppliers for project-related goods and services
    • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and pricing with both internal and external contacts, and assist with preparation of related agreements; full responsibility of manage and monitoring compliance of delivery against contracts; enforcement of claims to suppliers in case of deviations e.g. penalties

For components / services where no regional or global juwi database is existing, build up cost database for Italy to allow continuous improvement and understanding of costs
    • Clarification of market conditions relating to inter alia local content, imports, exports, credit limits, credit protection framework
    • Compile a list of product specification using the input from other departments
    • Forecasting and tracking capacities for Tier I & II suppliers
    • Carry out and support supplier qualification based on existing processes with focus on Italian based suppliers / subcontractors
    • Carry out and support a supplier performance evaluation process based on existing EMEA or global processes
    • Monitor market for pricing trends, changes, new entrants, equipment lead time etc. and share information within Project Supply Chain and . Carry out regular Lead Buyer Report based on current templates in case of assigned Lead Buyer function.

Due to further expansion, we are looking for a Project Finance Manager (m/f/d) to be based in Athens, Greece.  This position will lead the project level financial modelling and provide transactional support to the project teams in Greece (Business Development, Sales, EPC and O&M). The role will also act as the key subject matter expert from a project finance perspective and will report directly to the Managing Director.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide valuation and structuring guidance throughout the business development and sale process, advising on commercial agreements, risk allocation, bankability of contracts (including PPAs), financing alternatives, and expected investment returns.
  • Actively engage with prospective counterparties to clarify project valuation, risk allocation, assumptions and market perspectives.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data such as energy price curves, PPA assumptions, tax, financial inputs etc, using analytical tools and advanced models in order to create financial model assumption, predicting and qualifying risk and profitability.
  • Gather & handle financial modeling data with accuracy in order to help juwi team with investment decisions for project development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Define and support internal stakeholders in the energy sale strategy for each project (PPA vs merchant approach, auctions pricing definition.).
  • Develop creative financing strategies and examine the most competitive sources of funding.
  • Organize and conduct the process for financial partner/lender selection, including preparing teasers, IMs, and participating in the outreach.
  • Support juwi team in clarifying project valuation, risk allocation, assumptions and market perspectives.
  • Lead the negotiation of key financial terms of the transaction documents.
  • Manage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers as well as internal stakeholders to bring transactions to successful close.
  • Support and engage with the Corporate Finance team in accounting, controlling and treasury matters, including participating to Annual Budget definition, reporting to shareholders, pipeline management.
  • Lead the financial modeling and analysis supporting investment decisions for project development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Cooperate with juwi’s Finance Managers in the EMEA region, to maintain financial model assumptions, while retaining responsibility for the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant inputs to such models (energy price curves, PPA assumptions, tax, financial inputs etc) for Greece.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering. Masters, MBA, CFA, CPA, and/or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
  • 5 years of demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed financial models, including a project finance and accounting component.
  • Knowledge of the merchant power markets drivers and hedging instruments.
  • Knowledge of Tax Equity structures and IRS requirements is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS accounting topics.

About the role

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the procurement/purchasing activities for projects in Greece and other regions.  Responsibilities will lie in both the project and strategic purchasing areas.  Purchasing scope covers all local supply (goods & services), as well as other supply (in coordination with juwi HQ in Germany). Overall personal responsibility for co-ordination and monitoring of all procurement-related activities (including logistics and post sales related activities) within the project team.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure cost-quality optimized goods and services are purchased for our projects, on suitable terms for delivery, cost, payments and quality to meet project timescales and milestones.
  • Seek, identify and engage appropriate suppliers for project-related goods and services.
  • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and pricing with both internal and external contacts and assist with preparation of related agreements; full responsibility of manage and monitoring compliance of delivery against contracts; enforcement of claims to suppliers in case of deviations e.g. penalties.
  • Support on claim management and related post-sales activities.
  • Clarification of market conditions relating to inter alia local content, imports, exports, credit limits, credit protection framework.
  • Carry out and support supplier qualification based on existing processes with focus on local based suppliers / subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain long-term local supplier and subcontractor relationship.
  • Create and maintain standard and / or framework agreements where needed with local suppliers / subcontractors.
  • Support the development and implementation of purchasing strategy for local projects, based on EMEA and global purchasing strategies, in coordination with Head of Project Supply Chain in Germany and with focus on the local suppliers / subcontractors.
  • Work in conjunction with the juwi HQ purchasing organization to utilize global supplier framework.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management or in similar discipline.
  • 6 years’ experience in international procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience of working within the renewable energy industry or in the construction field or in civil / electrical subcontractor services and of managing purchasing & delivery for multiple projects at the same time, is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Full Professional English.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in order to communicate across levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations, to operate and to navigate in a multinational environment.
  • The job holder may be required to travel to project sites from time to time.

About the role

The Control Room Operator (m/f/d) will be manning the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Control Room. He/she will be responsible for continuously monitoring and analysing the operation and performance of the PV plants under O&M by juwi within EMEA, alerting / interacting with the local teams in case of incidents.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Utilize the remote monitoring system installed in the PV plants, to continuously check the smooth running of all equipment (inverters, strings, sensors, etc).
  • Analyze the daily performance of the PV plants, based on pre-specified procedures.
  • Identify, investigate (at first level), record, communicate and follow up on any incident of technical failure or underperformance of the equipment, on a clearly structured way.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System, to register, update and close incidents.
  • Exploit all potentials of the existing remote monitoring systems and contribute in the further development of monitoring tools, processes and procedures.
  • Closely cooperate with local EMEA O&M teams.
  • Work in shifts, covering all sunshine hours for EMEA region, for 365 days per year.
  • Situated in Athens´s juwi office.   

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Degree (AEI or ATEI) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or in Physics.
  • Basic understanding of electricity and energy production.
  • Experience, of at least 2 years, in the monitoring of PV plants or other power generating plants is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in the Operations and Maintenance of PV plants or other power generating plants is highly beneficial.
  • Good communicator on an international level.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (both spoken and written).
  • Reliable and responsible.
  • Good level of IT skills (MS Word, Excel, etc).

About the role

As the O&M Site Engineer / Technician (m/f/d), you will be responsible for managing and/or implementing the maintenance and operations activities of a 204 MWp  PV plant located in Kozani. You will report to the O&M Site Manager (m/f/d).

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure all maintenance and operations initiatives are carried out in conjunction with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Closely cooperate with Control Room personnel, in monitoring the plant, attending faults and providing feedback.
  • Perform fault finding and diagnostics on all plant’s equipment.
  • Perform all scheduled (preventive) maintenance activities, inspections and checks, according to the approved plans, schedules and procedures.
  • Conduct MV switching activities and other MV related tasks.
  • Organize and supervise panel washing and vegetation cutting activities.
  • Management of spare parts inventory on site.
  • Contribute to the drafting of O&M reports (regular and ad-hoc ones).
  • Supervise various subcontractors as well as a team of general workers.
  • Contribute in the plant’s HSE management, taking responsibilities for certain areas.
  • Perform stand-by during weekends and public holidays (based on a roster).
  • Perform maintenance activities in other nearby PV plants, if needed.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree (AEI or ATEI) or technical training as Qualified Electrician.
  • Holder (or being eligible for immediate issuing) of Certified Installer / Maintainer License for all categories and sizes of electrical installations (published by the Prefecture Office).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the construction and/or maintenance of PV plants or other powerplants.
  • Working experience in MV/LV substations, including transformers, switchgear, relays, etc.
  • Working experience (including switching) in HV/MV substations will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in the construction, commissioning or O&M of utility scale PV plants will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in working with central PV inverters will be considered a plus.
  • Very good IT skills, good communication skills, good administrative and reporting skills.
  • Ability to remain in control and perform effectively under pressure, along with ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Good knowledge of English language (both spoken and written).
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and public holidays, if needed.

  • Valid driver’s license.

About the role

As a Senior PV System Engineer (m/f/d): You will be responsible for complete engineering and design of solar power plants located at Greece and EMEA region. Accordingly, you will liaise with External Stakeholders and lead technical discussions. Above all, you will be an integral part of our local and International PV System Engineers’ team.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Complete System Design, including: system specification, engineering services, system design documentation reviewing and drafting including, but not limited to, PV Layouts and Electrical Diagrams in accordance with electrical, mechanical and civil International and Local standards.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, wire sizing, determine quantities, select components and specify all components to provide the optimal configuration.
  • Technical support for tender preparation.
  • Support component evaluation, specification and selection based on cost vs. performance benefit.
  • Technical support for RFQ preparation and evaluation.
  • Review contract technical requirements and prepare requirements tracking mechanism. Ensure compliance with technical requirements and facilitate close out of open issues.
  • Implementation of juwi’s system design standards and optimizations.
  • Document control, maintain engineering folder structure and prepare document registers, submission of final engineering package to end customer.
  • Technical support on FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) & SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), conduct associated inspections and witness tests.
  • On-site verification of installation & testing in accordance with design, internal procedures, regulations, standards and codes.
  • Grid access and connection discussions/approval.
  • Compliance to juwi standards and to regional standards and regulations.
  • Ensure seamless technical documentation of PV power plants.
  • Technical advisory and technical support for Project Development, Project Management, Operation & Maintenance, Sales and Project Finance departments.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have signature right.
  • 5 years’ working experience in large scale PV plant design.
  • Experience in design of large-scale PV Plants connected at high voltage grid is appreciated.
  • Good understanding of MV / HV Grid Code at PV Plants’ design.
  • Civil / mechanical engineering background is appreciated.
  • Excellent command of MS Office, AutoCAD, PVSyst.
  • Fluent in Greek and in English (verbal & writing).
  • Sharp analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong drive & true team spirit.
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD), the objective of this role is to consolidate juwi’s position as a leader in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of PV and PV+BESS+Wind projects in South Africa.  This requires the origination of and closing sales for EPC services for Solar PV for both government (REIPPPP) and private PPA opportunities, with the successful candidate bringing leading commercial experience and acumen to the role.  

The role requires that the services are highly competitive and sought after in the various segments within which the Company participates.

The Head of BD needs to ensure that the business development team is adequately resourced to meet the needs of origination, sales and conversion through the internal project Gates process, and that the interfaces to the EPC PMs, Project Development, Supply Chain, Legal, Corporate Controlling, Finance, Engineering and other departments are effective and efficient.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to remain competitive in the REIPPPP and private PPA markets,
  • Identify, engage and sell services to IPPs and energy intensive users where possible,
  • Participate in and secure projects in South African government tenders,
  • Ongoing general market intelligence – pricing, regulatory, risks etc,
  • Work with our partners to identify new business models and channels to open the private sector uptake of renewables projects, be it via direct PPAs, wheeling arrangements, or direct capital investment types of deals with related financing arrangements,
  • Oversight of the structuring of transactions while interfacing closely with the specific project team members,
  • Coordinating all aspects of the deal execution process, including negotiations and finalization of all project and financing agreements,
  • Managing the development and maintenance of the various financial models necessary for juwi’s business models,
  • Supporting the optimization of any bid scorecard, as required,
  • Develop an understanding of the competitive position of thermal and storage technologies and related models and strategies, to inform whether to compete or collaborate as appropriate,
  • Assist the MD with reporting into the Regional Director and Head Office – strategy development, project reporting, workshops etc,
  • Actively finding and developing mechanisms to improve Team effectiveness,
  • In addition to the duties mentioned above, the job holder is required to carry out other duties that are in essence part of his/her area of activity, according to his/her knowledge and abilities.

  • Proven track record of sales of utility-scale energy projects or similar,
  • Proven record of management of business development or sales teams,
