We have developed an innovative solution that allows you to integrate solar power into diesel generator grids – the Solar Fuel Saver.
The Solar Fuel Saver combines solar power with new or existing diesel generator grids –
without the need of batteries. It consists of a solar plant, the Solar Fuel Saver Controller and a sophisticated monitoring system. The produced solar power reduces the load of the generator and thus decreases fuel consumption. The controller regulates the solar power output so that the generator runs efficiently.

Simplicity at Work
The Solar Fuel Saver supplies solar power from the solar plant into the diesel generator’s mini-grid. With this additional power from the sun, the generator’s load is reduced. In single generator systems, the generator will run in partial load with reduced fuel consumption. As the solar power increases, the generator is slowly driven to minimum partial load. The controller then regulates the power output of the solar plant in order to keep the generator above minimum partial load, thus ensuring optimal operation. In multiple generator systems, one or more generators could be switched off due to the solar power input reducing the overall fuel consumption even more by reducingthe generator runtime.
The graph shows the interplay of solar fuel saver, diesel generator and solar power output. When the diesel generator output nears its minimum partial load, the solar output is re-duced to. This temporary reduction of the solar plant output protects the diesel generator from damage, and ensures an efficient operation
Solar Fuel Saver package
The Solar Fuel Saver package contains all you need to start saving.
Solar Plant:
An optimally designed solar plant between 70 kWp and 1 MWp generates the power that contributes towards your savings.
Solar Fuel Save Controller:
A central controller which acts as the interface between the solar plant and your diesel generator regulates the solar power to ensure the efficient operation of the diesel generator.
Monitoring:
Data-logging of key system parameters such as the power output of the solar plant and the generator enables you to review your savings and the performance of the system.
